Private Harp Lessons for Children and Adults in 

• Duncan (Marilyn's Studio) (some spaces available)
• Nanaimo - Nanaimo Conservatory of Music (new spaces available on Tuesdays!)
• Victoria (on hiatus at the moment)
• Brentwood College  (private music lessons in harp/flute for students)

Marilyn's classes are always fun, with a good solid technique taught along with the underlying theory that makes music understandable.

Private lessons are 1/2 hour, 45 minutes or 1 hour, depending on the needs of the students, and are billed on a monthly basis. 

You can study a variety styles of music, or concentrate on just one.  For example, you can study:

• Classical - good beginning for going on to pedal harp
• Celtic - Irish, Scottish, Welsh and Breton harp tunes and styles along with celtic-influenced Canadian music 
• South American - where the harp world is dominated by male players, and everyone - men, women and children - play with gusto and fire!

Most students learn a variety of styles, giving them a solid background for later specialization.

RCM exams may be taken on lever harps up to Gr. 9

Students learn to improvise and compose on a regular basis, as part of  learning about theory and the joy of pulling strings!
